About Bilaspur

Bilaspur's old town was submerged when the Bhakra Dam created Gobind Sagar Lake in 1954. Gobind Sagar (540 km²) is one of India's largest man-made lakes and a major water sports centre. Naina Devi temple on a ridge overlooking the lake is one of the most important Shakti Peethas in northern India.
